An Award-Winning Street Tree

Do you have a challenging site for a tree? Perhaps it’s windy. Maybe it’s too wet or too dry. Does the tree need to live in the ‘hell-strip’ between the sidewalk and the street? How about a small patio yard in a big city? Are you concerned about smog or salt?

Well, the Greenspire® Linden (Tilia cordata 'Greenspire') is one of the most adaptable trees you’ll find. It is a fantastic shade tree with a strong, spire-like shape. It is very tidy and low-maintenance. It adapts to many different landscape situations, not minding the soil condition, as long as it is in full sun. Greenspire makes an excellent lawn or street specimen tree, and does great by a pool or deck.

One of Greenspire’s best assets is the fragrant yellow flowers that bloom in early summer when few other trees are in bloom. Then, the dark green heart-shaped leaves turn an outstanding gold in the fall.

This tree is such a great tree to grow that it is included on many cities “Best Trees” planting lists.

It has a strong central trunk, and nice high branches, starting to branch out at 6 feet above the ground. This makes it perfect for parking areas and parks, as well as your yard.

Add a Greenspire Linden to your landscape this year and don’t worry about that troublesome spot again.

Impressed Review by RJC
Getting bare-root plants through the mail always makes me a little nervous and this five-foot Greenspire Linden is the largest specimen I’ve ever ordered. Upon receipt, I was impressed with the care taken; both the roots and limbs were carefully trimmed in the right places. Being the middle of summer, I soaked the roots and temporarily planted it in a spare mound of rich soil I keep in the shade. I kept the soil moist and in a couple of weeks it was covered with tufts of healthy green leaves. Wow – just that easy! I waited for a cold front and rain on the way to transplant permanently. Can’t wait for this to grow and make tea from the leaves and flowers. My wife is from Europe where they have many Lindens and have long used the tea for its relaxing medicinal properties. Thanks and nice job Nature Hills!
Great for Shade Review by CLAU
My Neighbor has this tree in front of his house. It has a beautiful dark green color and symetical shape. There are alot of branches which means alot of leaves... Great shade tree. Everytime I pass under the tree, it's always cooler. The truck is very straight and its root doesn't damage the sidewalk. I am planning plant one in front of my house too...
