Grass - Porcupine

This Porcupine Stands Out

The Grass 'Porcupine', Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus', has green leaves with cream colored horizontal bands. These leaves make this ornamental grass stand out anywhere!

Silvery white plumes rise 4 feet above the foliage in fall. The 'Porcupine' tolerates a wide range of soil types and is moderately drought tolerant. It will hold up to wind and snow.

This grass has a rigid, upright habit and stiff, pointed leaf blades, some of which stick out at angles like porcupine quills.

Use this plant as a specimen, for mass plantings, or plant next to ponds or pools.

When clumps dry in the fall they add structural interest to the winter garden.
