Gold Bars on Grass
Gold Bar Maiden Grass, Miscanthus sinensis 'Gold Bar', is truly a show-stopper and a sensational variety with its heavily banded gold stripes, from the base of the grass to its top.
The horizontal markings are much closer together than other banded miscanthus and they give 'Gold Bar' a dramatic look.
Its exceptionally upright and compact habit makes this new grass perfect for large containers or in small urban gardens.
Burgundy inflorescences appear just above the foliage in mid fall. 'Gold Bar' is a slower, but good grower, eventually reaching 5' tall.
Miscanthus is unrivalled in the diversity and beauty of its flowers, foliage, autumn colors and winter presence. It is extraordinarily adaptable to many conditions and purposes in the garden.
Use it alone as a specimen, in the mid to back border or to create a living fence or screen. It is easy to grow, and its intense color almost glows in the sun!
