Galileo Thermometer - Cherry with 10 colored spheres
Way, way, way long ago - in 1593 to be exact - Galileo realized that water could be used to show variations in temperature. With a few tweaks by the inventor Santorio (what's up with these names anyway?), we can now offer you these quality Galileo thermometers.
As the water in the tube warms and cools, its density changes, allowing the 10 floating bubbles inside to rise and fall. The tag on the lowest floating orb shows the current temperature.
Measures from 66 F to 84 F in two-degree increments.
