I have 2 japanese willow trees in the front park way and they are out of control. The trunk is about 2-3" in diameter but the top is 5'-6' wide. I have trimmed it but am not sure how hard it can handle. It looks out of control and I would prefer a more formal look. How do I go about keeping it shaped and somewhat in proportion with the trunk?
