Popular Flowering Trees

Flowering trees are extremely popular additions to landscapes.  We carry and lot of different varieties, but people want to know which ones are the most popular.  Everybody has different tastes, so there are a lot that sell very well.  One type that is always at the top of the list would be redbud trees.

The Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis) is very popular.  It is a rapid grower that likes moist soil and it is adaptable to soil types.  It covers a large range of zones (it is rated hardy for zones 4 through 9).  It displays beautiful pink to purple flowers in the spring and the leaves turn a nice shade of yellow in the fall.

A newer variety of the Eastern Redbud that is extremely popular is the Lavender Twist Weeping Redbud PP10328 (Cercis canadensis 'Covey').  This variety displays similar spring flower and fall leaf colors as the Eastern Redbud.  It has a unique trunk and beautiful weeping branches.  This one is a slow grower, but is definitely worth the wait.

The Forest Pansy Redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy') is another popular tree in the same genus.  This is another rapid grower that is adaptable to both soil type and moisture.  The spring flowers are pink and the fall colors are yellow and green.  This one is another great example.

There are many other varieties to choose from when it comes to flowering trees, but these are certainly at the top in popularity.  The vibrant colors and the unique looks make any of these three great additions to your landscape.
