Quick Overview

The Bearss Lime is a green seedless lime, a juicy lime flavor, and produced year round on an evergreen tree. Its fruit is larger than Mexican lime and does well in cool areas. When in bloom, Bearss Lime produces fragrant white flowers. This is the lime commonly used for drinks and cooking. The Bearss Lime tree is a heavy bearer of juicy, lemon-sized fruit in winter to early spring. Bearss grows into a densely branched, full rounded crown to about 8 feet, or can be pruned to a desired shape. The limes turn to a pale yellow at full maturity and have a thin, smooth rind. This lime variety needs little heat to ripen, making it an excellent choice for backyard plantings or in containers! In colder areas, move tree indoors for the winter. For best fruiting results it needs full sun, and spring fertilization is recommended. The soil should be kept moist, but not wet, especially during the growing season.
