The Most Cold Hardy Highbush!

The Northland Blueberry is the most cold-hardy highbush variety grown, it has small dark blue fruit that has an excellent, wild berry flavor. Perfect in shrub borders or as part of less formal shrub plantings in areas such as native plant gardens or open woodlands.

Clusters of dainty, waxy, bell-shaped, white flowers bloom in spring. Flowers are followed by tasty blue berries, which ripen in summer. Northland has bright green leaves that turn brilliant orange in fall. It's eddish stems are quite attractive in the winter, and it's a great plant for ornamental use because of its low, spreading habit.

The Northland Blueberry has limber branches which do not break under heavy snow loads and adapts well to the sub zero climate. It is self-pollinating. It likes an organically rich, medium to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. The shallow, fibrous roots need constant moisture and good drainage.

Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop. 

Blueberries are delicious, exceptionally nutritious, high in bioflavanoids. Blueberries are a gourmet treat that may be eaten fresh or used in cobbler, cake, sauce, jam, jelly or syrup. Birds love blueberries so be sure to plant enough to share!
