Blueberry - Bluejay

The Blueberry 'Bluejay', Vaccinium corymbosum 'Bluejay', is a medium to tall hardy shrub reaching 5-7 feet tall and wide. The heavy fruit set ripens in summer and is adored by both humans and animals. Clusters of dainty, waxy, bell-shaped, white flowers bloom in spring. These flowers are followed by tasty blue berries, which ripen in summer; very vigorous grower with heavy fruit set.

Grows best in acidic organically rich, moist, well-drained soil. 'Bluejay' appreciates a good organic mulch. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop. 'Bluejay' also displays great fall colors from yellow-orange, to red and purple.
