Blueberry Candy Daylily
Hemerocallis Blueberry Candy, Hemerocallis 'Blueberry Candy', is a marvelous reblooming plant with fragrant, soft ivory flowers. It has a blueberry colored eye and ruffled petals.
‘Blueberry Candy’ blooms profusely in midsummer and then again in late summer when many other perennials are beginning to fade. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month; attracts butterflies.
Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. ‘Blueberry Candy’ also makes a beautiful floral arrangement.
Divide this daylily every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions.
Use for stand alone plantings, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.
Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).
Fun to have in your garden, this plant is beautiful and will provide many months of color!
