Crape Myrtle - Pocomoke

The Pocomoke Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei 'Pocomoke') is a true dwarf crape myrtle that was released by the U.S. National Arboretum.

Being a unique dwarf-size, multi-stemmed shrub , Pocomoke Crape Myrtle displays deep rosy pink blooms all through summer, until frost.  This drought tolerant shrub is great for small areas, in containers, or it can also be planted in groups to create a low hedge.

This myrtle needs full sun and well drained soil.  Allow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.

This cold hardy plant has dark green foliage that turns rich bronze-red in fall.  The Pocomoke Crape Myrtle is ideally suited for formal or informal design in the home landscape, street plantings and community plantings.  It can be planted as a specimen or in groups, and if they are used for hedges, plant them 2 to 3 feet apart.
