Privet - Londense
Dwarf, Dark, Shiny, and Dense
The Londense Privet, Ligustrum vulgare 'lodense', is a dwarf privet shrub.
It is very dense and compact darlkgreen foliage. This privet is densely branched but quite irregular in shape if not sheared. It is ideal for a low dark green hedge that may reach a height of 4 feet with an equal spread, but can be pruned to any size.
Privets tolerate most light exposures but is not as dense in the shade.
If not pruned, it will produce pannicles of bright white flowers in the spring and sporatically throught the summer.
It is easily transplanted and grows rapidly. The dark shiny leaves stay green and persist through autumn.
