This hydrangea grows best in partial sun. Morning sun and afternoon shade is idea. The Nikko Blue performs best in acidic soil. Use these plants as foundation plants, borders, and as focus plants in your front yard.
The flower mops can get up to 6 inches long. If the blooms start turning pink, add Ferrous Sulfate to the soil. Flower color is determined by soil acidity. Rule of thumb: Acid soil-Blue flower, neutral soil-pink and blue flowers, alkaline soil-pink flowers.
