Hydrangea - Abracadabra Star

Hydrangea (Big Leaf Hydrangea) Abracadabra Star, Hydrangea macrophylla 'SAX Abracadabra Star A35-8', is a must have and makes an enchanting landscape plant.

It adds sparkle to any area with its large, bright lace-cap flowers that emerge pink and white, and then mature to hot pink. These hot pink blossoms appear atop black satin stems that provide interest in the garden even before the summer flowers open!

What a stunning summer color for your mixed borders; collect an armful for lovely bouquets of cut or dried floral arrangements. It is best to plant in well-drained moist soil and prune right after bloom because it sets bud in the fall on old wood.

It is recommended that a slow release fertilizer be applied in the spring. If you prefer blue flowers, you must add of aluminum sulfate to the soil.

Use Abracadabra Star in borders, as a specimen plant, in mass plantings and even containers.

Zones 5-9.
