Butterfly Bush - Adonis Blue
More Flowers from Dwarf Shrub
The Butterfly Bush Adonis Blue, 'Buddleia 'Adonis Blue', a Proven Winners selection, is a new cultivar that will not crowd its neighbors in your garden.
They are about one third the size of most Butterfly Bush varieties, attaining a mature size of 4'-5' with a spread of 3'-4'. The butterflies and hummingbirds still love them.
The plants are extra bushy and are loaded with colorful flowers. The deep blue flowers are good sized and have that delightful fragrance.
This plant is perfect for smaller gardens, the mixed border garden, and full sun gardens. They can also be used as container plants in milder climates.
The Adonis Blue blooms from mid-summer through fall. Prune this plant in late fall or early spring.
In colder climates, the Adonis Blue will die back to the ground but the roots will stay hardy and come back every spring.
To promote reblooming, deadhead off old spent blooms!
