Azalea - Encore® Autumn Embers™

The Azalea Encore 'Autumn Embers', Rhododendron Hybrid 'Conleb', has deep orange-red semi double blooms, and 'Autumn Embers' is one of the most popular of the Encore Series collection. It is a repeat bloomer that has medium growth with a mature height of 3 feet and a spread of 4 feet, and the blooms make a colorful statement in any landscape! The roots of azaleas and rhododendrons are very delicate and unable to penetrate heavy or rocky soils so amending the soil and excellent drainage is important. This Azalea is impressive when planted in groups or mass plantings in landscape beds; works well in foundation plantings and containers too. As with most azaleas, this one prefers acidic, well-drained soil. It will tolerate full sun, however prefers some afternoon shade; filtered sunlight is ideal; attracts butterflies.
