Arborvitae - Berckman's Golden
The Arborvitae 'Berckman's Golden', Thuja orientalis 'Aurea Nana', is a slow-growing dense, and oval-shaped evergreen that grows 8-10 feet tall; does not get out of control.
The branch tips are a cheery, bright golden yellow; nice bright green in the interior section, and then turning bronze in winter.
The cones start out as a bluish white color, eventually ripening to a mahogany brown. This arborvitae is easy to grow in well-drained soils and very low maintenance.
'Berckman's Golden' is a great, carefree choice for accent plantings; when planted close together, they make a nice medium sized hedge or border. Use this arborvitae to accentuate an entryway, as an informal, low maintenance hedge, or as a focal point in the landscape.
