Small Versatile Evergreen
Green Gem Boxwood is a broadleaf evergreen noted for its globular shape and excellent winter hardiness. These make an exceptional shrub border, especially with selective pruning. Its globular appearance also would make it wonderful in a mixed border or at the edge of your perennial bed for some definition. Green Gems even do well in containers.
Your Green Gem Boxwood features oval, dark green leaves with an attractive, glossy finish that holds its color well during the winter months.
With very little pruning, this adorable little evergreen will hold the shape of a 2-foot round ball. It’s the perfect accompaniment to many of your plantings and a vibrant addition to your landscape wherever you place it.
Green Gem Boxwood is noted for requiring little pruning. It grows to about 2 feet at maturity, maintains good green winter color, and is well suited for low formal hedges. Green Gem is best suited in a sheltered location which protects it in winter from strong winds and full sun, but is quite hardy, even tolerating some drought.
It has no serious disease or pest problems, including that both deer and rabbits tend to leave it alone.
If you’re looking for a tiny evergreen that welcomes your attention but doesn’t demand it, then Green Gem Evergreen is for you. It’s hard to find a diminutive evergreen so adaptive and carefree!
