The ‘Blueray’ Blueberry is a very popular home grown fruit!

A home garden favorite, the 'Blueray' Blueberry will grow to heights of 5 to 6 feet and the same in diameter.

With ‘Blueray’ in your garden, you'll be in good company; it's one of the most popular home grown blueberries throughout the northeast and midwest.   Who can resist the mouthwatering sight of blueberry bushes covered in powder-blue fruit?  Make this blueberry a tasty and attractive addition to your garden!

It is a heavy producer of high quality large, powder-blue berries with outstanding dessert flavor.  Pink tinged flowers are followed by the edible, sweet, round, deep blueberries that are 1/2 inch across.

This deciduous shrub is dense with an upright, multiple-branched growth habit.  It is dependable and has winter hardiness; similar to the ‘Bluecrop' but a bit sweeter.

A low maintenance shrub, the 'Blueray' blueberry grows best on sites where most other crops fail.  It performs well on loose textured soils--mixtures of sand and peat are best.  It prefers an organically rich, medium to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.  ‘Blueray’ is a midseason blueberry that ripens early August.

The foliage on this plant adds a brilliant color to your landscape when it turns burgundy red in the fall.

Prune as needed in late winter beginning in the third year after planting.  Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop.

Blueberries are delicious, exceptionally nutritious, high in bioflavanoids.  Considered a gourmet treat, the small fruits may be eaten fresh or used in cobbler, cake, sauce, jam, jelly or syrup.  Birds love blueberries so be sure to plant enough to share!
