A Tried-and-True Favorite!

Your Jersey Blueberry is a fruit-producing shrub.  Plant one of these wonderful blueberry bushes in a sunny spot where you can enjoy its spring bloom, delicious harvest and fall display.

Your Jersey Blueberry is of course most valued for its tasty fruit.  The dark, blue clusters of large berries ripen in August. The berries are crack-resistant, firm and deliciously sweet.  It’s an excellent baking berry, as well as perfect for many culinary uses…or eaten directly off the bush.

The fruit is full of antioxidants and a variety of vitamins (and other health benefits), making this not only a tasty treat but also a beneficial contribution to your overall health.  Jersey Blueberry also performs well as an ornamental shrub.

Spring brings delicate, white blossoms that transition into your sumptuous fruit.  The waxy, dark green foliage provides a lush appearance throughout the summer, turning a spicy-red for autumn—a last gasp of color for your yard.

Jersey Blueberry will grow up to 6 feet in height with a 5-foot spread.  It has an upright form and moderate growth rate.  Jersey is self-pollinating, but will provide an even better harvest if pollinated.  Overall, it’s considered to be very easy for the average gardener to grow.

Some say that the oldest is often the best, and Jersey Blueberries would certainly fit that description.  There are many varieties of blueberry to choose from, but Jersey is one of the oldest varieties and certainly among the favorites of blueberry-lovers everywhere.  Try one this year to make Jersey one of your new favorites as well!
