Enjoy fall color longer than any other deciduous tree.

The Autumn Purple Ash (Fraxinus americana, ‘Autumn Purple’) is an absolute winner for its fall color that lasts longer than any other deciduous tree. With a neat oval shape and medium height the Autumn Purple Ash is perfect for any yard.

The Autumn Purple Ash has an abundance of delightful, glossy, green leaves in the summer. It is a fast growing tree and a fantastic choice for a shade tree.

In the fall you will be stunned by the Autumn Purple Ash’s breathtaking display.  The color starts before all the other trees in your area and continues long after.

The leaves start the season a brilliant red and deepen to a distinctive purple color. Their purple color appears more intense against the inner golden and purple leaves. Even in the late winter the Autumn Purple Ash adds color to your yard with its dark, crimson, red buds.

Experts recommend planting these in a group to truly experience the spectacular color display. it is also a highly desirable shade tree for commercial purposes like parking lots and highway medians.

The Autumn Purple Ash does well in most soils, hot and cold climates, and can even withstand very moist conditions.

If you are looking for a fast growing shade tree that provides incredible fall color the Autumn Purple Ash is for you.

Good Tree for high elevations Review by Mark
The tree seems to do pretty well in Flagstaff, AZ. Although, it definitely like water in the dry spring. Winter dieback seems to be bad when we have a lot of winter wind. Otherwise, it usually flourishes in summer months
BEAUTIFUL Review by cassondra
I love the deep purple colors in the fall and boy does it grow fast. It has shot up over 18 inches each year. Though it is still small I cant wait for it to start shading the yard, and our childrens play set.
STUNNING Review by tree hugger
I have an Autumn Purple Ash tree in my back yard. Each year, it is my first tree to start changing colors, and it is spectacular. The outer part of the crown starts changing first and it turns a light purple to slightly scarlet. Then, as you go farther into the crown, it starts to turn slightly red to orange. Then, in the centre of the crown, it turns a magnificent yellow, bringing color to a cloudy fall or early winter day. In the other seasons, it is still a charmer though with its dense, shady green foliage.
Can't Wait Review by Edita
Planted in my front yard, it grows more than a foot a year and at 2 years, the fall leaves are beautiful maroon . I cant wait to see the changing colors as mentioned in above reviews.
Just Starting Review by Wendy and Darrin
We have just planted, and enjoy the color and the size. Looking forward to the shade in full growth. Plan to plant more next fall.
