Million Dollar Apple Tree

The Mutsu, or Crispin, Apple is a cross between Golden Delicious and Indo apple, a cultivar first grown in Japan. It is a large to very large greenish yellow to yellow apple with a conical shape with a sweetly tart flavor.

Once you taste a Mutsu apple, you’ll wonder if you’ve ever really tasted an apple before. The Mutsu apple tree provides its bounty in September, and what a bounty it is!

Crisp and juicy with an alluring hint of tartness, the Mutsu apple has a unique exotic flare. Some say the flavor is closer to apple cider than simply an apple itself.

Mutsu apples tend to be quite large; with a round shape and yellow coloration that has green tones. It has creamy white flesh and is delicious eaten right off the tree. It also is an excellent apple for baking, pies, sauces, salads and long term storage. The Mutsu tends to be a prolific producer so you’re sure to have plenty of apples to share.

Your Mutsu apple tree will not only provide outstanding apples, but is also an attractive tree for the home landscape. Spring flowers will adorn your tree with their subtle pinks and whites, drawing pollinators to your yard. It can grow 10-20 feet, and its vibrant, green leaves will present a lush, healthy appearance in your yard all summer long.

Among the various choices in apple trees, the Mutsu is certainly an excellent one. It’s easy to see why it’s called a “million dollar apple” and its large size has contributed to the nickname,"oven buster"-You don't need many to make a pie.

We take pride in delivering the highest quality plants with healthy roots and full, well-established stems and foliage.

Outstanding tree! Review by Mosol
I bought eight fruit trees from three different nursery's this year and the Mutsu Apple trees I received from Nature Hills Nursery is by and far the best quality tree I received. A tad more expensive than any of the others I bought but the two sent to me where absolutely gorgeous trees and have done exceptional in the three months since I received them.
My new favorite apple Review by Bethany
Though I dont yet have this variety in my small orchard, I pick yearly from local growers and this fruit is large and tart but not too tart. The skin is not bitter and the pulp is firm. My children love to eat it raw and I have baked wonderful pies and crisps. They keep well and have become a family favorite. I will be adding them to my garden.
The Best Apple Ever! Review by Sona
I recently purchased Mutsu Apples in Oak Glen, CA. They are delicious for eating, make the best apple pie Ive ever eaten and are terrific for applesauce also. They retain their shape in the pies and dont get all mushy in the applesauce. Would highly recommend this apple!
