Dahlia - Dalina® Grande Colima

Dahlia Dalina Grande Colima, 'Dalina® Grande Colima' PPAF, displays an outstanding amount of continuous color from spring to first frost. Proven Winners® Dahlias provide a beautiful plant that is excellent in containers and in the landscape. It has green foliage and beautiful pink flowers. Deadheading is recommended. Dahlia Dalina Grande Colima attracts butterflies. Some gardeners choose to leave their Dahlia tubers in the ground over the winter. In certain regions, this can be very risky, but if you have decided to follow this path, make sure that your Dahlias are growing in very well drained soil and apply a minimum of 6"-12" inches of mulch to the planting area before the ground freezes. The best plan is to dig the tubers and store them in a cool, dry place for the winter. Label each tuber or group of tubers so you know what they are come spring. Store tubers in a dark, cool (35 to 45 F) place. Do not allow tubers to freeze. This plant can be a perennial in zones 9-11. In zones 3-8 it is an annual only.
